Gas Vapor Containment

Organic and inorganic materials are present in all soils. These materials can produce gases or vapors. Some of these vapors may include water (H2O), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), methane, radon, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), mercury and others. These vapors can rise through the soil, penetrate overlying structures and then accumulate, this is referred to as vapor intrusion. Each of these vapors may pose risks to the occupants or the structures.

Nilex has in-house crews that provide the installation of all our vapor management systems and products. In addition to the installation, Nilex can also supply the design or assist environmental engineers with a design for the vapor barrier and sub-slab venting.

Gas Vapor Containment Products

Absolute Barrier™

Absolute Barrier is designed to restrict naturally occurring gases such as methane, radon, and dangerous VOCs such as gasoline, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene and many others from migrating through the ground and concrete slab. Absolute Barrier is a highly resilient, seven layer...

CGSB Vapor Barrier

This 15mil Polyethylene Vapor Barrier is a geomembrane liner that can be used below concrete slabs, in crawl spaces and foundation damp proofing. It is manufactured to not simply meet the requirements of CAN / CGSB 51.34-M86 (Canadian General Standards Board) but to exceed them. Nilex offers...

LLDPE Linear Low Density Polyethylene - Geomembranes

Enviroflex linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) geomembranes provide much of the same durability and resistance properties found in high density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembranes, but with the added benefit of increased material flexibility because it is a lower-density polymer. This gives...

Nilex High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Geomembranes

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane liners are used in a wide range of containment applications. Available in smooth, textured, white, conductive and high temperature variations, this material provides excellent durability and chemical resistance properties and is reliable in exposed...

Nilex Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Geomembranes

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) geomembranes are a versatile geomembrane liner material that features high flexibility, elongation and puncture properties. PVC’s flexibility allows for fabrication into large panels and folding for delivery to site which maximizes panel sizes and reduces on-site...

I want to thank you for getting things organized as quickly as you did for us and for the follow up calls and site visits that allowed us to get this work done and meet our schedule dates for the road work. As well, your product knowledge and ability to provide the technical support when dealing with the consultants was a major help in getting the system approved and installed correctly.

Bob T, Project Manager, MGP Construction Ltd.

Not only was there a substantial cost savings realized by the client, there was also a benefit to the road structure as well. The original design road structure number was 3.780 and a calculated traffic (ESALs) of 2,147,000. The revised road structure number using the TX5 is 4.260 and a calculated traffic (ESALs) of 4,593,000.

Jim B, C.E.T., Senior Project Manager, WSP Canada Inc.

Nilex was an invaluable asset in the successful completion of the Troutbrooke Drive Slope Stabilization project in Toronto, by providing engineering assistance, installation training and continuous on and off site technical support.

Terraprobe Engineering

The CULTEC system was simple to install. We will be recommending, and looking forward to using the Cultec system for future projects.

Kang Construction

We love you guys for getting this project [Energy Environmental Experiential Learning (EEEL) Building Grounds] completed in the timelines required.
