Ian Wilson

President & Chief Executive Officer

Ian has enjoyed a 25+ year career at Nilex and has spent over 30 years in the Civil / Environmental industry. Ian started in the industry in the field installing geomembranes and then supervising crews. With Nilex, Ian began in sales and worked his way through sales management, general management and then on to the executive team. He moved from the Burnaby regional office to the Head Office in Edmonton in 2001 to assume the role of President and has led Nilex through a period of economic and structural growth since that time. Ian added the role of CEO in 2013.

Ian's rise through "the ranks" was accompanied by a commitment to continued learning and improvement. He is presently active in the Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA) and is a member of the TEC (Vistage) organization for business leaders. Outside of work, Ian enjoys running and cycling.

Gurch Sekhon

Vice President, Sales

Gurch has been a Nilexian for 24 years. He began his career in warehouse operations and worked his way through sales, sales management and on to his current role as Vice President, Sales. Gurch was instrumental in the launch of the Engineered MSE Systems for Nilex during his tenure in technical sales. He possesses strong technical knowledge of the complete geosynthetic product line along with proven sales management experience. This combination of skills and experience allows Gurch to oversee sales and applications (engineering) operations at Nilex.

Gurch completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix while working full time and is actively involved in a TEC KEY (Vistage) group in Vancouver. When Gurch is not mentoring his sales teams across Canada and the US, he enjoys coaching his daughter's soccer team and playing squash.

Hugh Watt

Vice President, Construction & Operations

Hugh is responsible for the overall operations of Nilex's Construction group. Additionally, he oversees the Operations group at Nilex which includes supply chain, inventory management, fleet, property and the Nilex WorkSmart safety program. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Hugh has a proven track record of organizational leadership and change management including four acquisitions. Prior to joining Nilex, Hugh held several senior finance roles in a number of international energy companies.

Hugh is a CMA and is actively involved in a TEC KEY (Vistage) group in Edmonton. Outside of work, Hugh enjoys spending quality time with his family waterskiing, wakeboarding, boating, biking and hiking.
