Geomembranes and geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) are used extensively. The manufacturing, design with, and installation of them are widely written about. This article will provide a brief description of the basics about geomembranes and resources with which you can gather additional information for study.
Overview & EPA Influence
Geomembranes and GCLs are used and accepted worldwide as an excellent method for containing waste, water, liquids, and other debris. Geomembranes are very low permeability polymeric barriers used to control fluid, gas, or debris migration. Geosynthetic clay liners are made by sandwiching a thin layer of bentonite clay between two geotextiles.
