GlasGrid® Reinforcement Mesh
The GlasGrid pavement interlayer system provides reinforcement between the leveling and surface course to resist the migration of reflective cracks in pavements. GlasGrid is composed of a series of fiberglass strands coated with a polymer and formed into a grid structure that result in a high-strength, low-elongation reinforcing material.

is a nonwoven, polypropylene geotextile that when used in conjunction with an asphalt tack coat forms an asphalt membrane interlayer within the pavement. This layer prevents surface water infiltration and provides stress absorption, which improves the pavement’s resistance to reflective and fatigue cracking.

Petrotac is an easy to install, "peel and stick" pavement repair membrane that extends the lifespan of a roadway by forming a moisture barrier and stress-absorbing pavement interlayer. Petrotac is composed of a nonwoven fabric coated with rubberized asphalt adhesive mastic.

GlasGrid® Pavement Reinforcement System

The GlasGrid System is ideal for addressing the rehabilitation challenges of reflective cracking distress on highways, airport aprons, runways and parking lots and dramatically extending pavement life. Roads rehabilitated with the GlasGrid System cost less to construct, require less future maintenance, and ultimately last longer than using thicker asphalt overlays alone.

The GlasGrid System capitalizes on the high tensile stiffness of fiberglass. Its grid configuration features fiberglass strands coated with an elastomeric polymer. Each strand has a remarkably high modulus of elasticity that makes GlasGrid stronger than steel by weight. Placed between the leveling course and the surface course asphalt, the GlasGrid System redirects vertically migrating cracks horizontally to delay them from reaching the surface. With its pressure-activated adhesive backing, GlasGrid is quick and easy to install, with no need for specialized labour.

GlasGrid products installed within an asphalt layer can be milled with traditional equipment and reused in road projects as a recycled asphalt product.

GlasGrid® Tack Film (TF) 

The Glasgrid TF Pavement Reinforcement System provides all of the benefits of GlasGrid, without the challenges of applying a conventional tack coat.

GlasGrid TF contains a patent-pending, highly engineered film designed to replace the need for a tack coat. The fiberglass grid provides protection against reflective cracking, while the tack film enhances performance of the overlay, resulting in extended life.

With no tack coat emulsion to prepare and apply, owners and installers save on labour, time, and material costs. The tack film, which requires no curing, inhibits grid movement during the paving operation and allows same-day installation of hot mix overlays.

GlasGrid Paving

GlasPave™ Waterproofing Pavement Mat 

The GlasPave Waterproofing Pavement Mat (GlasPave25) is a unique combination of fiberglass mesh, embedded into high performance polyester mats. The nonwoven matrix structure allows for an asphalt binder to penetrate and fill voids within the fabric to limit moisture infiltration into a pavement structure.

Which product should I choose? 

  • GlasGrid is the optimum choice for heavy and medium duty overlay projects in terms of performance and total life-cycle cost savings.
  • GlasPave provides a cost-effective reflective crack mitigation solution for light to medium duty pavement overlay projects.

Proper selection of pavement interlayer is critical to ensure the asphalt overlay service life is realized for the intended design.


Petromat® is a nonwoven fabric that is field saturated with an asphalt cement tack coat to create a continuous moisture barrier and stress absorbing interlayer in new or rehabilitated pavements.

Petromat Asphalt

Petromat extends the life of new asphalt pavements and overlays by acting as a barrier to prevent water infiltration from the road surface into the base course. It also performs as a stress-absorber to reduce reflective and fatigue cracking.

Petromat is used to extend the life of all paved areas, including highways, parking areas and airport pavements.




Petrotac® is a “peel and stick” strip membrane used as a moisture barrier and stress absorber in paving applications. Petrotac is used in pavement maintenance to treat local pavement distress and joints and cracks before overlay placement. Petrotac is also used full-width as a moisture barrier in bridge deck paving projects.

Petrotac is composed of the Petromat® nonwoven fabric coated with rubberized asphalt adhesive mastic. The adhesive mastic easily bonds to the existing pavement surface, allowing for a quick, uncomplicated product installation. The unique asphalt coating on top of the nonwoven fabric ensures a strong bond with the pavement overlay.

The factory applied rubberized asphalt coating forms a continuous moisture barrier, leading many regions to approve Petrotac as a bridge deck waterproofing membrane.
